LETTER OF SUPPORT
for the Responsible Contractor Code of Conduct

Print out the following letter and deliver or fax it to the director of operations at your workplace.

I am an employee of (your company name). I enjoy eating at the cafes on our campus. I appreciate the food and service provided by the people who work for Guckenheimer and run the cafes.

Guckenheimer cafe employees deserve to be treated well, including access to affordable health care instead of publicly funded care, respect at work, a humane workload and the ability to provide for their families. We want to make sure that we are working at a company that supports responsible contracting.

I support (your company name) adopting a Responsible Contractor Code of Conduct which would require foodservice contractors to:

• Provide affordable family health care coverage and access to health care when needed;
• Pay wages that its employees and their families can live on;
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, including (but not limited to) those related to insurance, wages, non-discrimination, health and safety, and environmental matters; and
• Respect the right to organize a union without management interference when employees want to improve their lives.

I stand with my co-workers and the Guckenheimer café workers and urge (your company name) to adopt a Responsible Contractor Code of Conduct.
